welcome to the ABCI Institute website
The ABCI Institute is a non-profit organization headquartered in Washington, D.C.
A network of Brazilian and U.S. trade professionals and academics seeking to foster the study of international trade and trade policy by promoting discussions, events, and sharing knowledgeable content to the international trade community.
Since its launch in April 2004, the ABCI Institute has grown into a community of over 70 members who are actively involved with the study of international trade. ABCI’s members reside in the Washington, D.C. area, Brazil, Canada, Europe and Australia. We are an eclectic group and range the gamut from lawyers to economists and international trade scholars.
The ABCI Institute seeks to foster the study of international trade. Toward that goal, the Institute strives to organize symposiums, seminars and trade-related activities, provide in-depth training on various aspects of international trade to individuals in government, private sector, and academia, promote research projects and encourage scholarly attention to a broad range of subjects that concern international trade and Brazilian interests, and pursue any other activities related to advancing the study of international trade.
The Institute also maintains contact and regularly cooperates with organizations that have similar interests.

New Board of Directors
It is with great enthusiasm that we extend a big welcome to our new 2022-2024 board members Sergio Golbaum, Mirian Campos and Victor Leite, a young and vibrant team composed of one experienced trade economist and two highly qualified trade lawyers. With the chair being an economist, we believe to have achieved the perfect balance of expertise in the realm of international trade. New ideas are in the works with this new and vibrant team, but the initial plan is to first make our existing activities better, such as our webinars, newsletters, annual symposium and the highly successful ABCI Network in the WhatsApp platform.
